About Agenda 21!

Agenda 21 is a civil organization founded by a group of young students in Rosario, Argentina. Among its activities, Agenda 21 has taken part in and/or leaded different projects to promote Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

The organization has been in connection with Asociación Empleados de Comercio, a trade union in Rosario, for which it has designed and developed workshops and seminars for young union representatives. Regina Calcagno and Federico Fernández Reigosa, two founding members of Agenda 21 have been elected twice as union representatives by their co-workers. They have organized the first union representatives election in a call center in Rosario. A clip about this event has been exhibited at a congress of Universidad Nacional de Rosario School of Psychology:

Even though the Junta government fell down and democratic institutions were restorated long ago, argentine youth still need to be integrated into the social and political organizations, a fundamental part of the democratic system. Therefore, our organization is developing a schedule of classes for different adult schools and non-formal education centers. The objective is to make people conscious of their labour and political rights. This activity includes dissertations of Federico Fernández Reigosa, who, besides being a member of Agenda 21, is also involved in national politics and has been one of the youngest candidates to the National Congress in 2007 representing the Province of Santa Fe.
